Why Mental Health?

 

"Mental health is essential for leading a happy life. It affects how we feel, think, and live our lives by encompassing our emotional, psychological, and sociological well-being. Prioritizing mental health is, of course, critical.- CDC

 
 
 
  • Each year, 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder

  • 50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% begins by age 24

  • Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-34

It’s estimated that nearly half of adolescents have some kind of mental disorder. Out of these, anxiety and depression are the most common. Roughly 10% have a severely impairing disorder.

It’s believed that there are 25 unsuccessful suicide attempts for every successful attempt. Young people make up 13% of all U.S. suicides.

The Inspiring Children Foundation transforms lives through a whole human approach to physical, mental & emotional health. We help at-risk youth struggling with anxiety & depression go from survive to thrive. Our Life Plan curriculum encompasses a 10-step program with over 40 tools and 100 activations to help our youth find their best selves.

 
 
 

We’ve created a community of high achievement, healing, meaningful connections & happiness, resulting in our students becoming leaders in life. 95% of our students earn college scholarships and 92% report a dramatic decrease in their suicidal ideation and depression.

This award-winning program has been developed by some of the world’s leading lived-experience experts over the past 25 years, and is now being implemented in schools, nonprofits, corporations, and social services programs.
